Qatar Aeronautical College (QAC) yesterday celebrated the graduation of a new batch of pilots, engineers, airport operations management staff and air traffic controllers under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and in the presence of HE the Minister of Transport Jassim  Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti and a group of college officials and parents.
The graduating class comprises 98 students, including 52 Qataris. Of the graduates, 70 are males and 28 are females.
Speaking during the ceremony, HE the Minister of Transport highlighted the support and backing of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for the college.
He also hailed the close attention of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister and his constant supervision of students’ scientific affairs.
The 26 graduating pilots have successfully completed 76 weeks of training courses, including intensive courses of ground training, featuring 14 tests from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
In the flight training, pilots flew single-engine and twin-engine aircraft in order to pass the test as one of the requirements of CAA.
At the end of the courses, graduates were handed commercial flight licences for twin-engine aircraft and became qualified for receiving air transport licence certificate.
At the end of the ceremony, HE al-Sulaiti and QAC director-general Ali Ibrahim al-Malki handed over certificates and gifts to the graduates.
