The National Laboratories Building, being  built in Mesaimeer, near the Religious Complex area, is expected to be completed later this year, according to Ashghal authorities.
The building, spread over 15,000 square metres (excluding the basement) will be equipped with facilities for  tests for food safety, safety and quality of medical drugs, environmental protection and emergency response besides supervising disease prevention and control campaigns,  a community meeting  at Rayyan Municipality was told.
Another major project, Ain Khalid Health Centre, will also be ready soon. The 25,000 square metre complex is a multi-storied building is located in Umm Al Seneem.
It was also informed at the meeting that the work of Al Karaana Health Centre, spread over 2,800 square metres, would be over soon.
Similarly, the works of the health centres at Al Waab, Al Wajba, Muaither, and Bani Hajer are progressing and they are expected to start functioning next year.
Each of the centres is spread over  between 25,000 square metres and 33,000 square metres in area
Besides medical sections, all centres will be equipped with facilities like specialised clinics, dentistry, emergency, radiology, pharmacies  and labs.   
At the meeting it was also informed about the progress in the construction of 12 mosques in areas like Muaither, Rawdat Egdeim, Al-Aziziya, Al Shahaniya, Industrial Area, Al Meerad, Umm Sanim, Hazm al Markhiya and Al Waab.
At least six of them would be ready this year, it was told.
New mosques in nine locations are in the tender phase. They would be built  in Umm Ghuwailina,  Muaither, Al Meerad, Mheirja and Abd Bu Sidra.
