HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah yesterday received a copy of the credentials of Faihan Al-Fayez Chaljub, Colombia’s ambassador, and Mexican ambassador Francisco Javier Niembro Cibrian.
HE al-Attiyah wished the new ambassadors success in their work.

FM’s assistant meets  Kenyan officials

HE the Foreign Minister’s Assistant for Foreign Affairs Mohamed bin Abdullah bin Mutib al-Rumaihi held three separate meetings with Kenyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Amina Mohamed, Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Undersecretary and Managing Director of KenInvest Moses Ikiara in Nairobi.  
They discussed co-operation between Qatar and Kenya and issues of joint interest.
First Secretary of Qatar’s embassy in Kenya Mansor Falah Aldawseri attended the meeting, as well as the delegation accompanying foreign minister’s assistant.

Envoy to Nepal meets UN official

Qatar’s Ambassador to Nepal Ahmed Jassim al-Hamar met the World Food Programme (WFP) representative in Nepal Pippa Bradford in Kathmandu.
During the meeting, Pippa Bradford gave an account of the WFP’s activities following the devastating earthquakes which hit the country, pointing out that the WFP provided food aid for over 2mn people affected by earthquakes.
The ambassador briefed the WFP official on the relief assistance provided by Qatar, which include food, a field hospital and a drinking water treatment plant.
The meeting dealt with means to enhance the partnership between the WFP, the friendly countries and the civil society.

Qatar-Myanmar ties discussed

Myanmar’s Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin met Qatar’s ambassador Hassan bin Mohamed Rafea al-Emadi in Naypyidaw. Talks dealt with bilateral ties and means to develop them in addition to a number of topics of mutual interest.

Energy Minister arrives in Cairo
HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada arrived yesterday in Cairo to participate in the 7th meeting of the Arab Water Ministerial Council (AWMC) which will take place today.  
The meeting will be held in the headquarters of the Arab League under the presidency of Bahrain and the participation of Arab ministers of irrigation.  The meeting will discuss a number of issues, including the effect of climate change on water resources.
Qatar’s Ambassador to Egypt Saif Muqaddam Saqr al-Buainein received the Minister of Energy.
