Qatargas has held a special ceremony to recognise and reward employees for their outstanding performance and continuous years of service with the company.
Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani, chief executive officer, Qatargas, presented the Shukran Awards for outstanding performance and Long Service Awards for continuous years of service to more than 500 employees during the event held at Qatar National Convention Centre
on Monday.
The Shukran Awards (“shukran” is the Arabic word for “thank you”) provide a special recognition and appreciation for efforts and exceptional contributions of employees throughout the year. During the ceremony, a total of 189 employees were recognised for their outstanding performance in 2014 and valuable contribution towards achieving the company’s business goals.
They were awarded the highest annual performance ranking during 2014 after a rigorous selection process involving the Qatargas workforce of more than 3,000 employees.
The Long Service Awards were split into four categories – five, 10, 15 and 20 years of service. A total of 332 employees who have crossed these milestones received the awards from the CEO.
Addressing the employees, the CEO thanked them for their dedication and efforts. He attributed the success of Qatargas over the years to hard work and professionalism of its
workforce.
The CEO reiterated Qatargas’s commitment to develop its people and recognise and reward them for their positive contributions towards achieving the company’s objectives. He also urged them to keep up the good work and wished them further success in their careers with
Qatargas.
Qatargas has a programme to recognise, acknowledge and reward the accomplishments of its employees. Attracting, developing, motivating and retaining a high-calibre, diverse workforce forms the basis of the company’s human resource strategy.
