HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti met Bulgarian Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski in Doha yesterday. They discussed issues of joint interest in the transport sector and the means to enhance them.
A number of ranking officials at the Ministry of Transport attended the meeting, as did officials from Qatar Navigation.
Meanwhile, separately, HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani met Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works  Lilyana Pavlova in Doha yesterday.
They discussed co-operation between Qatar and Bulgaria in matters related to public works and urban planning.

Assistant FM meets Canadian senate delegation

HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi met a visiting delegation of members of the Canadian Senate.  
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them, as well as issues of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Advisory Council Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi also met the delegation from the Canadian Senate yesterday.  
They discussed bilateral relations between Canada and Qatar in the parliamentary field.

Qatar hosts meeting of GCC ministerial panel
Qatar will today host the 25th Meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Planning and Development of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) at the Sheraton Doha.
The meeting will be chaired by HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics Dr Saleh Mohamed Salem al-Nabit, and attended by GCC ministers and officials.
Ministers and other attendees will discuss a number of development and planning issues related to GCC joint work and developmental priorities.
These include the GCC General Secretariat memorandum on the establishment of a GCC Centre for Planning and Development Research as well as critical development planning issues previously discussed during meetings of the GCC Committee of Undersecretaries and Deputies of Planning and Development Ministries.

Sensor technology installed in water tanks at public gardens
A water level-measuring sensor technology has been installed in water tanks at public gardens as part of the central irrigation control system. The Public Gardens Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning said the technology measures the level of water in a reservoir, in a way that helps streamline the functioning of water pumps and control the amount of water in the tank. It also has the potential to adequately distribute the remaining amount of water in the tank among sprinklers in a garden.

Dodge,  Jeep vehicles recalled
An African expatriate, apparently an Ethiopian, was killed after being knocked down by a speeding truck on Salwa Road yesterday. He was in his late 20s, sources told Gulf Times.
His body was moved to the Hamad Medical Corporation mortuary in Doha, they said. In recent weeks, a number of road traffic accidents involving pedestrians were reported from across Doha.
