The fourth workshop on leadership skills assessment for the third group of officers from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), organised by the Leadership Development Centre (LDC) in association with College of Policing in the UK, has concluded.
The workshop was attended by MoI officers, who were nominated for Grade II and the future leadership programme.
Brig Badr Ibrahim al-Ghanim, director, technical office of the Minister of Interior, said the workshop was organised in order to train Grade II and future leaders, using the latest standards and measurement methods, and provide an opportunity for participants in terms of development and creativity in the field of police leadership. It also sought to shape young talent to take up leadership positions in the future, based on the requirements of the ministry.
He added that the assessment process was completed by Qatari officers who are recognised by the Institute of Leadership and Management in Britain as international assessing officers specialised in leadership quality and skills assessment.
Lt Col Sultan Mohamed al-Kaabi, director, Community Policing Department, and officer at the Assessment Centre, said the LDC has been working to prepare Qatari officers to carry out the assessment of candidates for the programme of Grade II officers - future leaders.
The selected group was assigned to participate in several workshops and has been accredited by the International Administrative Institute.
