HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani said the ministry will always be keen on serving people with disabilities as part of efforts to integrate them in the society.
The Minister was speaking at the graduation ceremony of the second level of the programme on rehabilitating sign language to deal with people with hearing disabilities.
The programme involved a number of officials of the ministry and the municipality. On the occasion, the minister announced a new phase of relations between the ministry and its clients who have disabilities, particularly in their hearing.
HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz said the programme is the beginning of a series of similar schemes to train municipality cadres on dealing with people with hearing disabilities.
He thanked Qatar Social and Cultural Centre for the Deaf for its co-operation in the implementation of the first and second levels of the programme, voicing the hope that such co-operation will continue in the future.
