The Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) held a meeting yesterday in Washington under the chairmanship of HE the Foreign Minister and Chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah.
This meeting comes within the framework of the preparation for the Camp David summit of the leaders of the GCC countries and the US president to be held in the US state of Maryland.

Ministry recalls Honda vehicles

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has announced a free recall campaign of Honda Civic, CRV and Jazz models made during 2003- 2004 for a manufacturer’s defect in the front passenger airbag.
The campaign is conducted in co-operation with Doha Marketing Services Company, the authorised distributor of Honda vehicles in Qatar.

More Qatar aid for Yemen
On the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar’s aid for the people of Yemen continued as two more planes with relief assistance left yesterday.
The planes carried 120 tonnes of relief materials and were escorted by members of the Qatari Research and Rescue Team (Lekhwiya).  
On Tuesday, two planes with an equal amount of aid arrived at Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport and were received by Qatar’s ambassador to Djibouti Jassim Jaber Jassim Souror, a delegation from the embassy as well as officials from Djibouti and Yemen.
The relief materials were to be transported by sea to the Yemeni people.  
The total aid delivered over two days reached 240 tonnes. (QNA)

Five expats face theft charges
A Doha Criminal Court is hearing a case of five Asian expatriate workers, charged with various house thefts and concealing the booty in a specific location, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday.
The defendants were arrested after a tip-off about a gang of three Asian men and two maids, who had absconded from their sponsors. They were also reported to be frequenting a certain house in a suspicious manner at various intervals to store and transfer different items. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that they were stealing from various houses and storing the goods to be sold later, the daily added.
