Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMUQ) and Qatar First Bank (QFB) recently signed a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) to begin bilateral collaborations in a number of areas. Carnegie Mellon Qatar students will benefit from hands-on training opportunities with QFB as part of its executive training programme, while QFB employees will have the opportunity to participate in CMUQ’s executive education courses in management, information technology and human
resources. The agreement falls within the objectives of the QFB “Pioneers” initiative, launched earlier this year, which seeks to develop students’ skills in the banking and finance sectors through the facilitation of internships and hands-on experience. The MoU was signed by Ilker Baybars, dean of CMUQ, and Ahmed Meshari, acting chief executive officer of QFB (pictured).
