Thampy Narayanan was a senior member of the Indian community.

Thampy Narayanan, long-time Qatar resident and a prominent entrepreneur, died of a heart attack in Doha on Wednesday. He was 61.
Admitted to the Heart Hospital more than a week ago, Narayanan, a senior member of the Indian community, had undergone an angiogram. He was the Managing Partner of Alu Tech, a major firm providing aluminium architectural technologies and solutions to the construction industry.
A native of Nooranad in Kerala's Alappuzha district, Narayanan was one of the first members of the Indian Cultural Centre, which was formed in the early 1990s.
He set up Alu Tech in 1995, which currently has more than 1,500 employees. Narayanan is survived by his wife Jayashree Thampy, and children Sooraj Thampy and Reshmi Thampy (US).
Narayanan was known for his benevolent activities and was a patron of several forums, including Kerala Social and Cultural Association. Arrangements are being made to take the body to Kerala on Thursday.
