Doha

The maximum temperature will be in the range of 36 to 39C in Qatar Thursday and Friday, owing to the possibility of an extension of a Sudan thermal low pressure belt over the Gulf region, the forecasters have cautioned.
But, mercury is expected to drop to 29-33C range from Saturday to Tuesday, on account of the comparatively strong winds from the Northwestern Saudi Arabian region. The winds will be in the range of 18 to 27 knots, and it can go up 35 knots at times, it has been warned.
The climate could lead to sand storms that could affect visibility in many areas. In some areas, it may fall to the levels of 2km or even less. The likely minimum temperature from Saturday to Tuesday is 20 to 24C.
The renewed winds may also lead to rising water levels in the country's offshore areas and the sea waves of seven to 10ft cannot be ruled out. At times it may go up to 12ft. The situation is expected to continue until Tuesday.
