Qatar Foundation’s Academic Bridge Programme (ABP) recently hosted an international college fair in the Liberal Arts and Sciences building in Education City.
Representatives from more than 30 universities and educational centres in Qatar, the UK, the Netherlands and the UAE participated in the 2015 ABP College Fair.
This event gave ABP students, as well as 10th, 11th and 12th graders from across Doha, an opportunity to learn more about the admissions requirements for entry into a diverse selection of universities.
“College fairs provide students with the opportunity to have discussions with multiple university representatives and gain insight related to programme requirements, admissions details and campus life - all in one setting,” said the ABP’s college counsellor, Dr Marcie Linsey.
A number of Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) partners were involved in the fair besides some UK universities. The American University of Beirut, the UAE’s Zayed University, Murdoch University from Dubai and the University of Groningen from the Netherlands were all registered participants.
Qatar University College of Medicine, College of the North Atlantic - Qatar and Community College Qatar were among the local institutions in attendance.
Educational centres were also well-represented, with members of the Supreme Education Council, HBKU Outreach, Bedaya Centre and the British Council being on-hand to
discuss openings and answer questions.
The ABP – the premier English-language university foundation programme in Qatar - has served around 2,500 young men and women since its foundation in 2001. More than 80% of those attending have been Qataris and nearly 90% of the ABP graduates have later attended English-language universities in Qatar or abroad.
The college fair has become an annual ABP event.
The ABP is now accepting applications for admission to the 2015-16 academic year. Information about admission may be found at www.abp.edu.qa or by e-mailing to [email protected]
