HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani discussed with President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas the developments in the Palestinian territories.  
President Abbas briefed the Emir on the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the Emir for the efforts made by Qatar in this regard.  
They also held a session of talks at the Emiri Diwan yesterday and discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.  
HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani attended the talks.
Also yesterday,  Qatar Development Fund (QDF) and the Palestinian Authority signed an agreement, under which Qatar will extend to the Palestinian government $100mn interest-free loan for development projects.
QDF general manager Khalifa Jassim al-Kuwari and chief negotiator of the Palestinian Authority, Saeb Erekat, signed the agreement.
Dr Erekat, on behalf of President Abbas and the Palestinian people, extended thanks to HH the Emir, the government and people of Qatar for their support to Palestine, not only in the financial field, but also in the political, diplomatic and media fields.
Qatar was the first state to help in the reconstruction after the destruction by the Israeli war machine in the Gaza Strip, he said.
