Qatari productive families who have booked space at next month’s “Made in Qatar” exhibition will be refunded the amount they have paid, Qatar Chamber (QC) deputy general manager Saleh al-Sharqi has affirmed.
He said QC was keen to improve the performance of such families and give them due support to enhance the quality of their products. Besides, “Made in Qatar” would be an “excellent platform” for them to showcase their products and further promote their cause.
The fees collected from these families were only to ensure that they were serious about their participation and these would be completely refunded, it was announced.
QC has held a forum for productive families to finalise necessary procedures for their participation in the exhibition, which takes place at Doha Exhibition Centre from May 18-21. QC officials also discussed with them the difficulties they faced and ways to overcome them.
The forum was attended by Sheikha Noor al-Thani, head of the productive families committee at QC Qatari Businesswomen Forum (QBF), and Alsayid Rajab, adviser to the QC chairman.
“Qatar Chamber is keen to meet all members of the business community in the country and listen to them to seriously consider their suggestions and recommendations on how to resolve their difficulties in the local market,” stressed al-Sharqi.
QC would ensure that small businesses get proper licences and legal assistance in co-operation with the competent entities to help them establish and grow solid businesses, it was observed.
Meanwhile, Sheikha Noor said the committee was formed to provide an effective link between officials and the families. She explained that a major difficulty faced by such families was that they did not have proper premises for their businesses due to limited resources. Further, this made it hard for them to proceed with legal measures to establish their work and take part in local and international exhibitions.
“The forum wants to build strong and effective relationships with such families to help them become independent businesses, not just recipients of support and aid,” said Sheikha Noor.
