Expatriate gets 10-year jail term
A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced an expatriate man to 10 years in jail and a fine of QR200,000 for illicit drug consumption and trading, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The convict would also be deported upon serving his sentence. The court approved the testimony of a Ministry of Interior officer who found 229 illicit narcotic pills, a large sum of cash and packets of hashish at the defendant’s flat. Upon interrogation, the accused admitted that he used to sell such drugs. He also admitted taking such substances, the daily added.
