‘Expedite opening of Al Furjan markets’
Qatari nationals have called upon authorities to expedite the opening of Al Furjan (neighbourhood) markets, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.
While work on many of these markets has been completed, no date has apparently been specified for their opening, the daily said.
A number of citizens have stressed that these shops will save them a lot of effort in the purchase of daily requirements, as many of them have to cover long distances to reach shopping centres, especially residents of areas such as Umm Al Sanim and Al Thumama.
The daily has learnt that the permanent steering committee for investments and real estate funds for government markets in the Ministry of Economy and Commerce has asked investors, to whom stores have been allocated, to complete the installation of equipment and start operations soon.
