The phase for submitting complaints and protests regarding the registration of nominees for the upcoming Central Municipal Council (CMC) election concludes today.
This was announced by Brigadier Abdulrahman al-Malki, assistant director-general at the General Directorate of Information Systems at the Ministry of Interior, who is the head of the technical committee for the election.
Any citizen who submitted a nomination application and did not find his/her name on the preliminary candidates’ list, declared on March 17, has the right to submit a petition to the chairman of the election committee. Similarly, any voter has the right to protest the nomination of a candidate in his respective constituency.
The final list of the nominees is to be declared on April 8 for the election scheduled to take place on May 13.
