Commercial Bank has announced the graduation of its latest participants in the 2012 Graduate Development Programme.
Commercial Bank CEO Abdulla al-Raisi said, “We are justly proud of our graduates and, along with their families and friends, we are pleased to take this opportunity to congratulate them on their achievement and hard work over the last two years.
“Our Graduate Development Programme participants have already shown commitment by completing this two-year course, but this is only the first step in what we hope will be a long career with us.”
The Commercial Bank Graduate Development Programme is known as one of Qatar’s “most effective” professional training programmes.
“Its unique value is that during the two years, participants experience a working life in nearly all of the bank’s business units, giving them invaluable hands-on work experience and also a sound understanding of how the bank operates in all its departments and how its different operations are linked together,” al-Raisi explained.
Participants benefit from technical training, mentoring from senior staff, buddy system, team-building activities and dedicated expert support to help them map out individual career paths. The programme also enhances the graduates’ communications, business and leadership skills.
Despite temporary deployment in different banking departments, participants discover through real experience the type of work within Commercial Bank that suits them best, helping them make the right decision about their future career path. Having completed their on-the-job rotation, the new graduates enjoy a placement in target permanent roles in the bank.
Commercial Bank EGM and chief human capital officer Sharoq al-Malki said, “As with all things in life, the greatest challenges bring the greatest rewards.
“Your reward is the experiences you have gained from your work rotations, the new skills you have learnt and, of course, your new full-time positions at Commercial Bank. This graduation marks the starting point for the rest of your careers, and it is an honour to welcome you to Commercial Bank as full-fledged members of the team.”
Al-Raisi also emphasised the role the new graduates would play in ensuring the continuing success of Commercial Bank. “Graduates are one of the bank’s most important assets and are essential to the future of Commercial Bank.”
