Senegalese Minister of Culture and Communication Mbagnick Ndiaye and his accompanying delegation yesterday visited Katara Cultural Village.
The Minister toured the village to get acquainted with the various facilities such as the open theatre, the opera, the drama theatre and others. He also listened to a briefing on the importance of the cultural district for the preservation of heritage and enrichment of culture, art and creative thought.
The minister praised the efforts of the cultural district which aims to showcase different cultures. He also expressed admiration over the cultural events and artistic activities hosted by Katara throughout the year.
The Senegalese minister invited Katara general manager Dr Khalid Ibrahim al-Sulaiti to visit Senegal.
“We are delighted to be at Katara, a meeting point of arts and cultures and we are also happy to lay the foundation stones and pillars in order to push forward the cultural relations between the two countries,” the Senegalese minister said.
Al-Sulaiti welcomed the Senegalese minister and his accompanying delegation, saying that the cultural district is one of the most important landmarks and cultural monuments in Qatar, the region and the world.
