As part of events marking the World Down Syndrome Day, the Shafallah Centre for Children with Special Needs will organise a sports festival for snowboarding in the Villaggio Mall on Tuesday. The 10th annual event marking the World Down Syndrome Day is held under the logo ‘My Opportunities, My Choices’ – Enjoying Full and Equal Rights and the Role of Families’ adopted by Down Syndrome International and down syndrome societies.
As it coincides with the 21st anniversary of the International Year of Family, Down Syndrome International this year highlights the role of families and positive contribution towards persons living with Down Syndrome to enjoy full and equal rights with others and to become active members of society.
Message from US vice-president
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, yesterday received a written message from US Vice-President, Joe Biden. The message, which was delivered through diplomatic channels, praised relations between Qatar and the United States.
