HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued Decree No 17 of 2015, setting May 13 as the date for the election of members of the Central Municipal Council.
The decree invited citizens who have voting rights and who are on the electoral rolls to cast their votes in their constituencies. The decree is effective from its date of issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
The Emir also issued Decree No 16 of 2015, appointing Sheikh Bandar bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani as Chairman of the Audit Bureau.
lThe Emir approved the Council of Ministers’ decision No 10 of 2015, amending some provisions of the decision No 17 of 1998 on the permanent emergency committee. Another Emiri decision was issued appointing Abdullah Jassim Mohamed al-Mi’dhadi as Qatar’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tanzania.
lThe Emir issued Decree No 18 of 2015, approving the accession to the Istanbul Convention on Temporary Admission and its annexes. The Emir also issued Decree No 19 of 2015, approving the system of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) Commercial Arbitration Centre.
lThe Emir issued an instrument of ratification approving a draft Memorandum of Understanding for joint co-operation between the Diplomatic Institute at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National School of Administration (ENA) in France signed in Paris last year.
