Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah al-Thani has been honoured by the Community Policing Department in recognition of his humanitarian initiatives and contributions to the society.
The Community Policing officials headed by the department’s director Lt Col Ahmad Zayed al-Mohannadi met Sheikh Thani, to express their happiness on him winning the International Dentons Award 2014 for Social Impact, for his social, humanitarian and charitable activities around the world.
The executive director of the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Persons with Special Needs Ameer al-Mulla was also present.
Lt Col al-Mohannadi lauded Sheikh Thani saying he would make all Qataris proud. “We are more happy as his humanitarian services through his establishments are reaching different sectors of the society,” he said.
Al-Mohannadi reiterated that Community Policing of the Ministry of Interior is committed to working in collaboration with all stakeholders, in order to ensure security and stability through communal contributions and co-operation.  
Sheikh Thani thanked the initiatives of Community Policing and expressed his pleasure over the support of the MoI for humanitarian services and social work.
