Ghana greeted on national day
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has sent a cable of congratulations to President John Dramani Mahama of the Republic of Ghana, on the occasion of the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.
HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have also sent cables of congratulations to President Mahama on the occasion.
Deal to avoid double taxation
Qatar and South Africa yesterday signed an agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent fiscal evasion. It was signed by HE the Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi and his South African counterpart, Nhlanhla Nene. Qatar’s ambassador to South Africa Salem Abdullah al-Jaber attended the signing ceremony in Pretoria.
A statement from the Qatari Ministry of Finance said the agreement aimed to enhance bilateral co-operation in trade and investment.
Envoy presents credentials
Protocol Department director at the Swedish ministry of foreign affairs Caroline Vicini yesterday received the credentials of Hamad bin Mohamed al-Khalifa as Qatar’s ambassador.
