HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday met members of Qatar Chamber (QC) and the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA).
During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the need to stimulate, support and encourage the Qatari private sector to contribute effectively to the economic boom witnessed in the country  so as to implement the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
The directives instructed the government to support and strengthen the private sector’s partnership and participation in investment fields, to find ways to facilitate procedures for economic and commercial activity in the country, and provide better services to citizens and residents.
The Prime Minister lauded the role of Qatari businessmen and their efforts in the development field and the growth of national economy, stressing the government’s pursuit of achieving a strong economy capable of growing and competing at the regional and international level.
He pointed out that the country would witness “a lot of achievements” in the days ahead.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the latest developments in economic projects in the country and efforts undertaken to further develop them. In addition a presentation was held for the Qatari private sector on a number of strategic projects and government initiatives to be launched in order to allow the private sector to prepare and participate in these projects. This would ensure the application of the principle of equal opportunities and transparency in these projects as well as the continuous and permanent efforts of the government to co-ordinate between the public and private sectors.
For their part, the Qatari businessmen extended their thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister. They added that the unification of efforts would contribute effectively to the development and progress of the country.
The meeting was attended by HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, HE the Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi and HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani.
