HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud yesterday met separately with ambassadors Saleh Mohamed al-Ameri of the United Arab Emirates, Christophe Payot of Belgium and Askar Shokybayev of Kazakhstan. The meetings reviewed Qatar’s relations with the three countries and ways of enhancing them.
Greetings sent to Bulgaria
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev on the occasion of his country’s National Day.
Ministers meet ambassadors
HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah yesterday met with Turkish Land Forces Commander Gen Hulusi Akar and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on matters of common concern. The meeting was attended by Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Demirok and senior officers of the armed forces.
♦ HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari met ambassadors of the member states of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF). They included French Ambassador Eric Chevallier, Belgium’s Christophe Payot, Canada’s Andre Dubois and Swiss Ambassador Martin Aeschbacher.
Talks focused on cultural co-operation between Qatar and OIF countries in addition to preparations for holding 2015 Francophonie Week in Doha next April.
The minister also met later Australia’s Ambassador Pablo Kang.
♦ HE Dr Hamad Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari also met Kubanychbek Taabaldiev, director of Kyrgyzstan’s National News Agency (Kabar), currently on a visit to Doha.
♦ HE the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khalid al-Qahtani yesterday met visiting UAE Minister of Health Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed al-Owais. The two sides reviewed bilateral co-operation and ways of developing them.
