Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) won the Excellence Award in IT Healthcare during the 16th annual Congress of the Arab Hospitals Federation (AHF) last week in Cairo.
Also, during the congress, HMC’s managing director, Hanan al-Kuwari, was bestowed with the Leadership and Education Award for 2015.
Mohamed Mubarak al-Noimi, chief of communication and chief of staff for the managing director’s office at HMC, and Ali Abdulla al-Khater, executive director of corporate communications department at HMC, received the awards on behalf of the corporation and Dr al-Kuwari.
The award further affirms HMC’s efforts in introducing and applying state-of-the-art technologies to healthcare in Qatar, notably its recently introduced clinical information system (CIS) - a comprehensive system-wide change, which has been designed in collaboration with clinicians.
The Leadership and Education Award for 2015 conferred on Dr al-Kuwari was described as a token of appreciation from the AHF in recognition of her efforts in supporting advanced healthcare and medical education programs at HMC. The leadership awards are presented by the federation annually to healthcare pioneers and leaders in the Arab countries.
Al-Khater described the awards as additions to a series of accolades HMC has been receiving in recent years due to its commitment to providing the best and quality standards of healthcare treatment and services to people of Qatar.
“Hamad Medical Corporation has obtained various distinctive regional awards and international accreditation for most of its services throughout the past years. These achievements confirm that our main aim is to continue to progress towards excellence and improving our services up to international standards,” al- Khater said.
