Some of the world’s “latest and most famous” apps can be easily accessed through Vodafone’s ‘Apps Corner’, the service provider said.
Launched at Vodafone Qatar’s stores located at Villaggio Mall, City Center Mall, Landmark Mall and online at www.vodafone.qa/AppsCorner Vodafone’s Apps Corner is a “dedicated digital zone” that allows customers the chance to get acquainted with the ‘five apps’ recommended to try every month or the essential apps they can install on their new phones.
The Vodafone Apps Corner will also provide customers with a user guide for each of the popular apps stores including Google Play, The App Store, BlackBerry World and Windows Store. The user guides make it easy for the customers who are new to a specific mobile operating system so they can be familiar with the store and get simple steps of how to create accounts, link payment methods to their accounts, download apps and more.
Jonathan Donovan, head (Online) at Vodafone Qatar said: “Vodafone’s Apps Corner underlines the company’s position as a tech leader that is strongly committed to making technology content in both English and Arabic easily available to all. Qatar’s smartphones and tablet penetration is the highest in the world. Inevitably, owners of these smartphones and tablets are continuously looking for newer ways to further enjoy their handsets and gadgets or introduce more efficiency, perhaps, into their lifestyles.
“At Vodafone, we wanted to make access to mobile apps super easy, fun and convenient and this is why we have introduced Vodafone’s Apps Corner. We’ve also made sure to make it available online so that people can access it anytime, anywhere; so if it’s a Sports App, a Health App, a Fashion App or a News App that they’re looking for, we have made it ready and at arm’s reach.”
According to Qatar’s ICT Landscape 2014 report by the Qatar’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Qatar beats many mature Information and Communication Technology countries, which are considered benchmarks in ICT device penetration such as the UK, Germany, Sweden, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, when it comes to owning smartphones, laptops and tablet devices.
