Ezdan Holding Group has partnered with the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) to organise a ‘warm winter’ campaign (Shtahom Dafa).
The campaign benefited 7,500 workers, who received assorted winter clothing and supplies.
“The ‘warm winter’ campaign is a national social contribution that comes in the context of the strategic vision of the ministry, which aims to meet the needs of all community members and provide them a decent life, especially for the workers, who represent one of the indispensable building blocks of society, and necessary partner in achieving the desired economic prosperity,” said Mohamed Ahmed al-Sayed, director, Doha Municipality.
During a visit from Ezdan Holding Group deputy CEO Nasser Mohamed al-Abdulla, al-Sayed thanked the company “for its pursuit to participate in charitable initiatives, which reinforces its role in the community, and helps achieve its social responsibility objectives.”
Al-Sayed also expressed appreciation to Ezdan Holding Group chairman Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah al-Thani “for his prominent support to this project and his eagerness on achieving its goals.”
“This is what we always expect from Sheikh Dr Khalid, he spares no effort to actively interact and communicate with the community for the sake of achieving the common good,” al-Sayed said.
Al-Abdulla stressed that national companies should support social solidarity foundations through charitable initiatives aimed at maintaining care for workers.
“The Group will work as hard as possible to hold more charity events that serve community members and the advancement of the country,” al-Abdulla said.
He added: “We are keen to be at the forefront of philanthropy initiators, seeking to provide wellbeing and decent life necessities for all. We are grateful to witness the participation of the Ministry in the ‘Warm winter’ campaign, as we believe in our common responsibility to provide assistance and support for workers. This class constitutes the basis of the country’s development and advancement especially that they work outdoors in low temperatures during the winter.”
After the meeting, al-Sayed awarded the Municipal Shield to al-Abdulla in recognition of the group’s role and efforts.
“Ezdan Holding Group believes that the company is an essential and integral component of the Qatari society in all its segments. As a result, the Group strives to strengthen this bond through interaction and participation in all community activities and organises events that serve citizens, as well as residents and contribute to Qatar’s renaissance,” al-Abdulla said.
