HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani received the credentials of five new ambassadors to Qatar. Ambassadors of Spain (pictured), Albania, Tunisia, Bulgaria and Algeria -  Igancio Escobar, Edmond Chasha, Salah al-Salihi, Metin Kazak, and Abdulaziz Saba, respectively, presented their credentials to the Deputy Emir. The ambassadors conveyed the greetings of their countries’ leaders.  The Deputy Emir welcomed the new ambassadors and wished them success in their duties. The ambassadors were accorded official reception ceremonies on their arrival at the Emiri Diwan.

Qatari leaders greet Kuwait Emir on National Day
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables of congratulations to the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah on his country’s National Day.

Justice Minister holds talks in UK

HE the Minister of Justice Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi met his British counterpart Chris Grayling on the sidelines of the Global Law Summit, which concluded in London yesterday. They discussed issues of common interest, particularly in the legal and judicial areas and ways of strengthening and developing them.


Qatar Environment Day today

The Ministry of Environment (MoE) is marking Qatar Environment Day today under the topic “It is my environment and I am responsible”.
There will be a march on the Doha Corniche at 10am, led by HE Ahmed Amer Mohamed al-Humaidi, the Minister of Environment, alongside a number of senior MoE officials, in addition to a number of participants from both government and public sector, schools and civil society organisations.
The MoE has launched a photography contest on the wildlife and scenery in the country. A number of workshops have been conducted to raise public awareness about different environmental topics. Various plant saplings were distributed to the participating schools to encourage students to plant trees.
The MoE has also organised a drawing contest on the topic and another for the most beautiful school garden.

Recall of Dodge Durango and Jeep
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has announced a free recall of Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee models 2011-2014 to repair a manufacturer’s default in the connection of electric wires of the sun visor lights. The recall is conducted in collaboration with United Cars Company - Al-Mana, the distributor of Dodge and Jeep in Qatar.
