HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani attended a reception hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce  in co-operation with the National Economic Council at the  Four Seasons hotel in Washington yesterday.
Talks during the event dealt with topics of mutual interest, especially economy and trade and ways to promote investment between Qatar and the United States.
During the ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and industry and the US Chamber of Commerce.
The reception was attended by US Secretary of Trade Penny Pritzker, Senator John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, as well as a number of business leaders and the heads of major US  companies members of the US-Qatar  Business Council .
It  was also attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir.
On Tuesday, the Emir met at his residence the Secretary of Homeland Security of the United States of America Jeh C Johnson.
Discussions during the meeting dealt with a number of issues of mutual interest and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.     
The Emir also received the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Brennan on Tuesday. Discussions during the meeting dealt with aspects of co-operation between Qatar and the US and issues of mutual interest.
