One of the top jewellery houses of the region, Bahrain-headquartered Devji Aurum, as in the previous years, has launched an array of unique collections for the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, which has opened at the Qatar National Convention Center. The company, which has an illustrious tradition of over 62 years in the Gulf region is currently concentrating its activities in the UAE and has a long association with Qatar’s premier jewellers Alfardan. It has a stall at the Alfardan pavilion.
“Heirloom, We, Trio and Carnival are among our masterpieces at the show this time,” said Devji Aurum’s regional director Kapil Dasani, a very familiar face at the exhibition, having participated in all 11 editions held earlier.
“Through the Heirloom collections we have found a way to attract more customers to our creations,” stressed Dasani while recollecting their long association with Alfardans who are among the top collectors of the world.
The collection, he said, comprises neck, hand and earpieces that are set with highest quality of diamonds, and other precious stones procured from the chief sources of the industry.
In the `Trio’ pieces, golf is carved and layered to form a series of three-dimensional sculpted heirlooms. It could take upto two months to craft and a fortnight to design, hand draw, hand thread and hand craft these ornaments, said Dasani while explaining the enormous effort that craftsmen put into these ornaments
`We’ collections, meaning a combination of wedding and engagement is focused wholly on the region’s households.
