Qatar’s delegation to the 23rd round of the meetings of the Council of Arab Health Ministers and its Executive Office in Cairo at the Arab League General Secretariat Headquarters starting tomorrow will be headed by the Minister of Public Health HE Abdullah bin Khalid al-Qahtani.
The meetings over two days would discuss a number of related issues such as the health and humanitarian conditions in Palestine, the status of Ebola disease, the improvement of maternal health in the Arab World and the Arab strategy to combat Aids (2014- 2020), besides various other topics.

Independence Day greetings

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani,  HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent congratulatory cables to Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei on his country’s Independence Day.

Phone call from Turkish FM
HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah received a telephone call from his Turkish counterpart Molod Shawish Oglo yesterday.
They discussed the current situation in Syria.

Minister meets Moroccan team
HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi met a delegation from the ministry of solidarity, woman, family and social development of Morocco.
They discussed aspects of co-operation between the two countries and ways of enhancing them as well as issues of common concern.

Advisory Council holds meeting
The Advisory Council held its meeting under the chairmanship of its Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi yesterday.  The Council discussed a draft law on the issuance of the Commercial Company Law and decided to refer it to the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee.  The council also discussed the Public Services and Utilities Committee report on a draft law on the issuance of a safety list for ships with smaller payloads.

Folk dance of Levant to go on show at Katara

Katara, the Cultural Village Foundation, will hold a Dabka, traditional folk dance of Levant, on Thursday and Friday. Folk dance troupes from Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon are to perform.
They will present a variety of dances including the wedding and street dances.
The festival will be preceded with a number of lectures tomorrow on the history of Dabka. On Thursday, two Dabka troupes will give special performances where they will actively interact with the members of the public.
