Qatar’s Ambassador to the UK Yousef bin Ali al-Khater honours RasGas, represented by Abdulrahman al-Mannai, during the UK Career Fair.

RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is on a recruitment drive in the UK, looking for young and talented Qatari students who would like to make a career in the world of natural gas.
The company is taking part in several recruitment-driven initiatives in the UK between February 18 and 28.
As part of the programme, RasGas has participated in the eighth Annual Career Fair for Qatari students in the UK, held in London on February 20 and 21. Established in 2007, the fair has been attended by scores of Qatari students over the years.
The fair gave RasGas a platform from where to introduce students to a wide array of career opportunities, scholarships and internship programmes on offer at RasGas and other prominent Qatari organisations and institutions.
“RasGas is delighted to take part in the UK Career Fair for the eighth year in a row. The event provides a platform to not only connect with local students studying abroad but also works to attract the highest calibre of engineering graduates for scholarships at RasGas. Students in non-engineering majors were introduced to other career options available in different fields and were provided with valuable advice on qualifications and skills,” said Abdulrahman al-Mannai, Learning and Development manager at RasGas.
As part of the UK visit, RasGas has also met with Qatari students on the company’s scholarship programme at six universities across the UK. The visits provided RasGas with the opportunity to not only follow existing scholars’ progress but also network and discuss further programme improvement initiatives with university professors and deans.
There are currently 52 Qatari students enrolled in various university programmes across the UK under RasGas’s scholarship programme.
“This annual UK visit is one of many initiatives we undertake as part of our Qatarisation programme and is testament to our commitment to fully support the national development strategy with specific emphasis on nurturing and supporting our national talent, as set out in Qatar National Vision 2030,” he added.
RasGas was one of the first Qatari companies to participate in the UK Career Fair and has recruited countless Qatari students from overseas over the years. Currently, about 36% of its total workforce is made up of Qataris.
