Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ictQATAR), will host the 15th meeting of the GCC e-Government Executive Committee on February 18 and 19, in the presence of executives and chairpersons of e-government authorities and programmes in the GCC States.
The meeting, to be held at the Four Seasons Doha, aims at enhancing the technical co-operation and joint actions among GCC States, fostering exchange of expertise and knowledge in the field.
Several items related to the enhancement of e-government services will be discussed including GCC joint initiatives, as well as setting standards for GCC official web portals.
The Committee will also discuss the GCC e-government networks integration and the sectors that would benefit from such a network. The Committee will also listen to a report from the State of Qatar on developing a knowledge management portal among Gulf countries and work progress on this regard.
Reports and items on the common aspects of collaboration among member states in the area of e-government will be reviewed.
The Committee will also prepare the agenda for the fourth meeting of the GCC e-Government Ministerial Committee to be held in Doha this March.
