HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent congratulatory cables to Sergio Mattarella on his election as the president of Italy.
NHRC delegation to visit Norway
A delegation from the National Human Rights Council (NHRC), chaired by Mariam bint Abdullah al- Attiyah will leave today to Norway on a four-day visit. The delegation will meet a number of organisations working in the human rights field, in addition to several workers’ syndicates in the country. In a statement to the press, Mariam bint Abdullah al-Attiyah said that the visit was the first of its kind as the council looks to enhance its experiences. She added that such visits can help the council apply more initiatives in the field of human rights, particularly as Norway is one of the leaders in that field.
