Logistics expert Bin Yousef Cargo (BYC) and UAE-based packing and relocating services company Delight International Movers (DIM) have officially launched Delight International Movers Qatar (DIMQ) in Qatar.
“Today our aim is to cover the entire part of logistics. We are trying to provide a one-stop-solution to any logistic needs,” BYC managing director George Mathew said.
The event was attended by officials of BYC, DIM, visual art expert Amal Abdulla al-Aathem from the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, and a number of guests.
Mathew said it is a good opportunity to establish a “branded organisation” specialising only in packing and relocation knowing that Qatar has a big expatriate population.
Established in 1985, BYC has various divisions such as courier, which is called airborne courier worldwide, and airline GSL. It also has a number of joint ventures including one with Expo Freight.
About their advantage compared with several logistics companies, he noted that they have been operating for nearly 30 years and have built up a good reputation.
“We are not a company of just a year or two, people know us,” Mathew stressed. “One is our service and second is our goodwill and that is what has brought us to this level.”
He said BYC has its own transportation fleets, warehouses, and offices near the new airport and seaport and an attached office in the Industrial Area.
The company’s warehouse occupies an area close to 5,000sq m and an additional 2,000sq m for open air and runs a fleet of 20 vehicles.
The new company will offer packing and moving services for various household items such as furniture, whole kitchen equipment, electronic goods using any mode of transportation.
He also vouched for the credibility of DIM saying it is a fully licensed and insured moving company with 300 members. It has a total fleet of 140 vehicles and provides numerous services such as domestic and international relocations including pets, fit out and transportation services, industrial and fine arts moving, warehousing facilities, and temperature controlled storage.
For fine arts relocation, DIM offers professional packing of paintings and sculptures in multiple destinations for exhibitions. It also offers assistance in packing, setting up and repacking after exhibitions, as well as assisting in international moving and custom formalities.
Equipped with 24-hour security through CCTV cameras, DIM’s warehouse facilities have a wide variety of storage solutions, in different shape and sizes.
DIM’s management system has been audited and certified by Bureau Veritas as complying with the standards International Organization for
Standardization.
About the package rates, he said it will depend on the area, commodity, volume, and the type of packing, among others.
“There are many factors to consider. We will go for a survey and then we will come up with an estimate,” he said. Shipping glasses, for example, can change the entire costing changes, since this kind of item is more expensive.
