Al Meera Consumer Goods Co said it is finalising “in-store preparations” for new ready-to-open branches in three communities as part of its strategic expansion plan in the Qatari market.
The company said it has completed the construction phase of stores in Muaither, which has a land area of 4,912sqm, Al Azizia (3,250sq m), and Muraikh (13,554sq m).
Aside from the three outlets, Al Meera said it will also open seven other branches in the first quarter of 2015 to realise its motto of being “Your Favourite Neighbourhood Retailer.”
Al Meera deputy CEO Dr Mohamed Nasser al-Qahtani said: “The opening of new branches proves our ongoing quest for excellence and our aim to stay close to our customers wherever they are. This comes in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, the primary source of inspiration that motivates us to achieve our strategy, which consists of the expansion of our stores based on innovative and modern standards that meet the needs of our customers in various regions of the state.”
Al-Qahtani added that Al Meera aims to inaugurate 24 new stores inside and outside Doha by the end of 2015.
For the first quarter of the year, al-Qahtani said the company will open new malls in Jeryan Nejaima, Thakhira, Al Wakrah, Al Thumama, Al Wajba, and Rawdat Ekdeem, as well as a branch at a rented property in the Gulf Mall.
“Al Meera aims to accomplish the construction phase of its 14 malls by 2015. The malls will be opening according to four innovative designs in Sailiya North, Umm Salal, Leabaib 1, Leabaib 2, Bu Sidra, Al Wakrah 2, Rawdat Aba El-Herran, Azghawa, Al Khor, Um Qarn, Rawdat Al Hamama, Jeryan Junaihat, Al Sailiya, and Ain Khaled,” he said.
He added: “This event reflects the aspirations of a large class of our customers in this growing market and it is also a confirmation of our commitment to provide the best services to our customers and all the possible means of comfort by expanding into areas where they live, ensuring that they enjoy a unique shopping experience in each of our different branches.”
According to al-Qahtani, the design of the three ready-to-open stores were inspired by its Legtaifiya branch, which boasts of a state-of-the-art model that meets international standards of retail sale and suites the requirements of contemporary markets.
The three stores feature one ground floor, including several shops and restaurants in addition to parking lots around the mall's building, he said.
Aside from basic food items, Al Meera also offers various household items, as well exclusive products under the label “Al Meera” and “Casino.”
