The Leaders Development Centre (LDC), under the office of HE the Minister of Interior, held a ceremony on the occasion of bagging the international accreditation certificate in the field of leadership and management from the British Institute of Leadership and Management.
The event saw eight officers from the Ministry of Interior being honoured for completing the assessment process of young leaders.
British Ambassador Nicholas Hopton, Ministry of Interior’s Human Resources Department director Brigadier Hussain Hassan al-Jaber, HE the Minister of Interior’s Technical Office director Brigadier Bader al-Ghanim, Strategic Planning Department director Colonel Abdul Rahman Majid al-Sulaiti and a number of officers were present.
In his address, Brigadier al-Ghanim thanked the departments concerned and officers who contributed to the success of the LDC during the past years and appreciated the officers who assessed the young leadership of the Ministry of Interior.
“The LDC is keen to take all necessary measures to lend credibility and quality in all of its procedures, in order to comply with the standards followed by the international institutions and specialised agencies,” he said.
“In this context, we co-ordinated with British Institute of Leadership and Management, one of the prominent international agencies that grants accreditation in the field of leadership and management,” the official said.
This was done to ensure that the procedures taken by the LDC are according to the international standards and also to implement all necessary measures to meet the requirements for accreditation standards.
This included the visit of a team from the British Institute to the LDC for the review of its works and the executed programmes and also to verify all necessary documents for the completion of the accreditation standards and nomination forms for leadership programmes, quality assurance programmes and content and goals of the programme.
Brigadier al-Ghanim also noted that, in light of the review of all those models, and work procedures, the British Institute of Leadership and Management approved granting the LDC the international accreditation certificate.
The accreditation also qualifies the assessing officers from the Ministry of Interior for the international licence as future leadership assessment officers.
In his address, Ambassador Hopton stressed on the importance of the historical relationship and co-operation between Qatar and the UK in various fields, including training and praised the efforts taken by the Ministry of Interior.
