The Qatarisation, training and development section of the Human Resources department at Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has organised an interactive workshop for its Qatari female engineers in line with its policy to attract, develop and retain a high-performing workforce and support Qatarisation.
The four-hour session was conducted by Engineer Bashayar al-Awwad, vice-president of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO).
It was aimed at enhancing the trainees’ professional and leadership skills, confidence building, development of strategic thinking, and improving productivity, Kahramaa said in a press release yesterday.
A large number of Qatari female engineers from different departments attended the workshop.
“The focus of the programme was to support female engineers in creating an environment where they feel supported and encouraged in their personality development endeavours enabling simultaneously to deliver high-quality outputs within a healthy work environment,” Kahramaa said in the press release.
Speaking about the programme, Kahramaa Corporate Services Director Engineer Nasser al-Mohannadi said the company has set out a number of plans to instill a culture of excellence and continuous professional and personal development in its Qatari talents and ensure the application of the standards of corporate excellence in all operations and at all organisational levels.
