The Advisory Council held its weekly regular session chaired by HE the Advisory Council Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.
HE the Advisory Council Secretary-General read out the agenda which has been approved. The Council also endorsed the previous session’s minutes.
The Council then reviewed a draft law amending some provisions of law No 2 of 2011 on official statistics and decided to refer its recommendation to the Cabinet.
The Council also reviewed a draft law on commercial, industrial and public shops and hawkers and decided to refer it to the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee for a report.
Meanwhile, the Advisory Council’s Cultural and Information Affairs Committee met yesterday at its White Palace Headquarters under its Rapporteur Dr Ahmed Mohamed Obeidan.
The committee finalised a study of a draft law organising sports clubs and decided to refer its reports to the Advisory Council.
The Advisory Council’s Financial and Economic Affairs Committee also met yesterday at its White Palace Headquarters under its Rapporteur Mohamed Ajaj al-Kubaisi.
The committee studied a draft law on the commercial, industrial and public stores and vendors and  decided to complete the study of the draft law at a future meeting.

Qatar-Morocco ties reviewed

Moroccan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Lahcen Daoudi yesterday met Qatar’s Ambassador to Morocco Abdullah bin Falah bin Abdullah al-Dosari.
They discussed bilateral relations especially in the field of education and ways to strengthen the existing partnership, in addition to a number of issues of joint interest.

Al-Kuwari attends Riyadh meeting


HE the Minister of Culture Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari left Doha yesterday for Riyadh to take part in the 19th session of the ministers in charge of cultural affairs in the Arab world.
The session is being held under the theme ‘Arabic language as a starting point for human cultural integration”.  
The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) has prepared the session’s document, including the main document which consists of 15 studies by Arab experts.
