An introductory forum on the legislations and procedures for import and export, jointly organised by Qatar Chamber (QC) and GAC, concluded yesterday after making several recommendations after discussions among the business leaders in Qatar and GAC delegates.
The forum recommended that GAC publish its strategic plan, in particular regarding the projects directed at the private sector, estimated to be 22 projects out of the 53 projects offered by GAC. Accordingly, businessmen would discuss them and present their suggestions on the related
issue.
Besides, the forum recommended that QC should appoint a representative to co-ordinate with GAC on the discussion of five major projects of GAC; evaluation of the first edition of the customs clearance single window Al-Nadeeb system and review of its second edition; assessment of a project to establish central customs labs; launch of the experimental phase of the authorised economic operator (AEO) system; management of relationships with the main GAC partners; and publication of all the regulations, legislations and executive orders related to GAC in all possible means of media to spread them among the business
community.
The forum stressed the need to speed up the process of issuing the electronic source certificate by QC.
GAC made a presentation of its strategic plans and projects for 2014-2016 and updated the participants on the new procedures and legislation regarding
