HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued an Emiri decision amending some provisions of Emiri decision No 39 of 2011, setting up the steering committee of the establishment of Qatar railways network (Q-Rail).
The decision stipulated that the committee is to be set up with the Prime Minister as Chairman, the Minister of Transport as Deputy Chairman with the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning, chairman of the Public Works Authority, deputy assistant undersecretary for Urban Planning Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation and Qatar Railways Company (Q-Rail) as members.
The decision is effective starting from its date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.

Emir endorses Cabinet decision on urban plan

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday endorsed Cabinet decision on the comprehensive urban plan for the State of Qatar.
The Emir also endorsed a number of Cabinet decision related to expropriation of some real estate for the public interest.

Emiri decisions

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following decisions:
1. A decision appointing Hassan Mohamed Rafee al-Emadi as ambassador to Myanmar.
2. A decision appointing Mohamed Ali Jaber Hamad al-Henzab as ambassador at the Foreign Ministry Headquarters.
3. A decision transferring Ambassador to Jordan Zayed Saeed Rashid Alkmeit al-Khayareen as ambassador at the Foreign Ministry Headquarters.
4. A decision transferring Ambassador to Georgia Mohamed Khamis Nasser al-Kuwari as ambassador at the Foreign Ministry Headquarters.

New diversion to Pearl Qatar
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has built a new four-lane diversion from the under construction Lusail Expressway to The Pearl Qatar.
The new diversion will be effective from Thursday onwards.
The two-lane traffic will be maintained in each direction of the new entrance and exit to The Pearl Qatar, according to an Ashghal statement.
The diversion is being made to facilitating the implementation of work currently taking place as part of the construction of the Lusail Expressway project, it said.
Ashghal will install road signs in the entire area for the convenience of the motorists, it added.
Ashghal has also announced the closure of the access and the exit to The Pearl Qatar from the existing roundabout, known as the Lagoona roundabout, which will instead function as an access for the traffic heading to Lagoona Mall and the hotels in the area.
The new roundabout will be opened at the point where the new diversion route from The Pearl meets with Lusail Street (as shown in the attached map).

New tests added for newborns
The Primary Health Care Corporation has added new examinations for children to diagnose anaemia and autism among the newborns, reports local daily Arrayah.
The aim of the programme is to develop the child’s medical examination from the date of birth until the completion of all vaccinations.
Dr Sadriyya al-Kohji, chief, Child Heath Section, PHCC, stated that two new vaccinations are given in the ninth and 30th month taking the total number of visits to nine. During each visit, child’s weight, height and the circumference of head are recorded.
Dr al-Kohji has stated that at the ninth month, the mother undergoes blood analysis test for early discovery of anaemia. During the next visit, the doctors will measure the child’s growth and will test for autism.
