Al Ahli Hospital has adopted several measures to provide first aid facilities during the National Day celebrations being held at Darb Al Saai grounds.
Fadi Latayfeh, one of the officials of the hospital, said that Al Ahli is the only hospital that provides first aid facility at the venue. He explained “We have a surgeon stationed at our booth to treat any cuts or injuries. We also co-ordinate with the ambulance services in case a patient needs to be transferred to any hospital.”
He also pointed out that besides the surgeon, there is a team of one doctor and 2 or 3 nurses stationed at the hospital booth at all times.
“They are specialised emergency team members. They do the first aid and provide other necessary assistance.”
Dr Waseem Hassan Zamzam, general surgeon at Al Ahli Hospital, said the hospital also provides special lectures on healthy living to the visitors.“We provide lectures to visitors on important topics and healthy diet. We also screen them for diabetes and hypertension for free. We advise the visitors especially school children about their diet and provide advice about healthy living.”
