HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah met UN Secretary General’s special representative for Iraq, Nickolay Mladenov, in Doha yesterday.

During the meeting, the they discussed the latest developments in Iraq.

 

Assistant FM meets Nato chief

HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi met Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and his aides as well as a number of ambassadors accredited to Nato, who are currently visiting Qatar to participate in the two-day security conference, due to open in Doha today.

They discussed relations between Qatar and Nato and ways of enhancing them.

 

Al-Sada chairs meeting in S Korea

A delegation led by HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada  has participated in the second meeting for the joint strategic supreme committee with South Korea.

The meeting, held in the presence of South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Yoon Sang-jick, discussed issues on the agenda, notably formulating plans to develop ties in the commercial and investment areas.

The two sides also touched on the current level of relations in the economic, social and cultural spheres and future co-operation in the energy and industry sector.

Qatar’s Ambassador to Seoul Mohamed bin Abdulla al-Duhaimi attended the meeting along with a group of officials in the energy sector and representatives of ministries and government bodies and institutions.

 

Qatar-Oman ties reviewed

Speaker of Oman’s Shura Council Khalid bin Hilal al-Mawali met Jassim Abdullah al-Malki, vice-chairman of the Central Municipal Council (CMC), and the delegation currently accompanying him on a visit to Oman.  During the meeting, the two sides reviewed relations between Qatar and Oman and ways of boosting them. They also exchanged views to promote the work of municipal and legislative councils in both countries.

 

Indian president greets Emir

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has extended greetings to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day.

“On behalf of the government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to extend warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the friendly people of Qatar on the occasion of your National Day,” Mukherjee said in his message.

“India greatly values its close and time-tested relations with Qatar, which are deeply rooted in history. We look forward to further strengthening and deepening our multifaceted ties for the mutual benefit of our two countries,” he further said. “I take this opportunity to convey to Your Highness my best wishes for your personal good health and well-being, as also for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Qatar.”
