The National Day celebrations reflect the extent of development and progress that has been made in a few years by Qatar, said Libyan Ambassador Abdulmonsif Hafiz al-Bori.

Ambassador Al-Bori praised Qatari-Libyan relations, saying that the State of Qatar has supported the Libyan people since the beginning of the Libyan revolution. He said it is still showing willingness to provide all the support needed by the Libyan people.

The Libyan ambassador told QNA that the progress in the State of Qatar can be seen in aspects of economic development, primarily in the human development, noting the increasing numbers of educational institution. This gives the young Qataris access to the best learning methods, he explained.

In addition, Qatar has expanded in the field of establishing research and study centres, he said adding that the State encouraged sports, built modern stadiums and sports facilities.

Praising the developments in the field of health, Ambassador al-Bori noted the abundance of hospitals, clinics and medical centres that provide world class health, curative and preventive services in addition to the well-equipped specialised hospitals and qualified doctors from all over the world.

“There is a remarkable development in the field of economy and trade reflected in the volume of commercial activities and prosperity of the Qatari banks which play an effective role in advancing the national economy,” the ambassador said.

On the Qatari-Libyan relations, the ambassador stressed that the State of Qatar has supported Libyan people since the first spark of the Libyan revolution. Due to the extraordinary situations caused by the unfortunate events Libya, many of the mutual activities are experiencing some slack, said Ambassador al-Bori hoping they will be resumed and strengthened in the near future to serve the interests of both nations.
