The upcoming Middle East International Special Needs Education Conference (MISNEC’ 2015), which is scheduled to be held in Doha from March 24-26, 2015, is aimed at securing a positive position towards the development of the future of Special Needs Education (SNE) in the region.

Held under the patronage of the Supreme Education Council, the conference will be a regional event with an international perspective for empowering persons with special needs, says Naseem Sheikh, the conference consultant and director.

The conference is themed as SNE being the focal point of the concept: “Making High School Inclusion Meaningful”.

Naseem Sheikh explained that the primary goal of the conference is to play a vital role in the advancement of professionalism of special educators, academicians, researchers, policymakers and other professionals who serve students with the Special Needs Educational assistance at all levels, including higher education.

Mona al-Mulla, the chairperson of Al Tamakon School, said: “The conference will promote teaching strategies by improving learning, formed on practices that are research-based globally for Special Needs Education.

“Hence, to shape innovative educational strategies that will support the region’s upcoming generation to become effective contributors.”

The conference takes place at a time when Qatar is nurturing Special Needs Education over the years while striving to achieve best standards in the region.

“It is also an opportunity for the corporate sector to contribute towards the upbringing of its society as stakeholders in the community by sponsoring a cause marketing programme of the conference and being titled as CSR Ambassdor, a role to be played for the Corporate Social Responsibility,” the conference consultant said.

The three-day  event will feature such topics as the tech application for better results, researches and parental role in special needs education, among other areas.
