The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia and Sultan Qaboos of Oman have received written messages from HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani containing an invitation to attend the 35th session of the Supreme Council of GCC Leaders, due to be held in Doha on December 9 and 10. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal received the letter during a meeting in Riyadh yesterday with HE the Minister of State Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Saud al-Thani. In Muscat , Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said received the message during a meeting yesterday with HE the Minister of State Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Attiyah.
Advisory Council holds meeting

The Advisory Council yesterday held its weekly regular session under the chairmanship of its Deputy Speaker Issa bin Rabiah al-Kuwari. |
At the outset of the meeting the agenda was read out and approved.
The council endorsed the minutes of its previous session.
The council then reviewed the following two draft laws:
1- A draft law regulating the election system of Central Municipal Council’s members.
2- A draft law amending some provisions of the criminal law issued by Law No 11 of 2004.
The council decided to refer the two draft laws to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee.
FM meets Belgian ambassador
HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah met the Ambassador of Belgium to Qatar Christophe Payot yesterday. They reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop them, in addition to discussing topics of mutual interest.
Transport Minister meets US envoy
HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti met US Ambassador to Qatar Dana Shell Smith yesterday.
They reviewed co-operation in the field of transport and the means to enhance them.
Labour Minister leaves for Iran
HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi and his accompanying delegation left for Iran in response to an official invitation by Iranian Minister of Co-operatives, Labour and Welfare Ali Rabiei.
The visit aims at enhancing relations between the two countries.
Dr al-Khulaifi was seen off by ranking officials from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and Ambassador of Iran to Qatar Mohamed Javad Asayesh.
Iraq parliament speaker arrives
Speaker of the Iraqi House of Representatives Dr Salim Abdullah al-Jubouri arrived in Doha yesterday. He was welcomed at Hamad International Airport by HE the Advisory Council Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.
