Alfardan Sports Motors, the official importer of Ferrari and Maserati in Qatar, has donated 1% of all Maserati and Ferrari sales profits to Qatar Cancer Society as result of a campaign launched in October.

Omar Alfardan, president and CEO of Alfardan Group, handed the donations to Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabor al-Thani, chairman of Qatar Cancer Society, at a ceremony at Alfardan Group Corporate Office at Alfardan Towers.

“Alfardan Group has always placed significant importance on supporting public welfare activities and organisations - as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility duties to give back to the community,” Alfardan said.

“Through this contribution, we are confident that we have been able to assist Qatar Cancer Society spread awareness by educating people on the importance of early detection of cancer.

“Alfardan Group has been actively striving to enhance and develop such initiatives as a continuous culture within its subsidiaries, such as Alfardan Sports Motors; in line with the National Vision 2030 set by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

“We believe that in order to achieve a healthier society, organisations should support such activities and awareness programmes so as to enhance healthier living practices, starting with the younger generations.

“I would like to extend my appreciation to Alfardan Sports Motors team and esteemed clients who, with their efforts and generosity, helped achieve our goal,” he added.

Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabor al-Thani said:” We extend our thanks and appreciation to Alfardan Group and Alfardan Sports Motors for their commitment and contribution towards our cause. Qatar Cancer Society always welcomes partnerships and agreements with various institutions to fulfil its mission to create awareness, prevent and cure cancer.”
