The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre) has participated in the fifth Qatar International College Fair 2014 through its career development pavilion, which offered integrated advisory and guidance services to high school, university and post-graduate students.

Bedaya Centre is a joint initiative of Qatar Development Bank and Silatech,

Saleh al-Khulaifi, board member of Bedaya Centre, said: “Our participation this year has been outstanding on all levels and is another highlight in terms of the diligent efforts we have been making. I would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Higher Education Institute, Scholarship Office and Career Guidance Centre directors for their unwavering support before and during the exhibition.”

The event was an opportunity for Bedaya Centre to offer a wide variety of services, including computers, which allowed students to take the Tamheed psychometric assessment - an Internet-based evaluation method available in both Arabic and English to help students discover their personality traits and identify their career
preferences and tendencies.

Upon completion of the assessment, student reports were instantly printed and students had the opportunity to sit with experienced and highly-qualified youth professional advisers to discuss their reports.

Students were satisfied at Bedaya Centre’s services, which helped them outline their available choices and focus on them based on their own interests, abilities and aspirations without wasting much time and
effort.

Student Noor al-Aji said she was happy with the assessment performance and the fact that she met a Bedaya Centre adviser who explained to her the relevant university study options based on the assessment.

Almaha al-Rumaihi, another student, added: “My experience with Bedaya Centre during the exhibition has been very rewarding. I was able to learn about the centre’s services and what it offers to Qatari students, and am looking forward to be a Bedaya Centre
ambassador in the future.”

Alanood al-Muhannadi, a Bedaya Centre adviser at its Qatar International College Fair 2014 pavilion, said: “I volunteered at the Bedaya Centre as a career adviser and am thrilled at the centre’s rich experience.”

The Bedaya Centre pavilion attracted more than a thousand visitors, who were interested in the centre’s different programmes and activities. More than 210 advisory sessions were conducted and 245 students took the Tamheed assessments.
