Court acquits man of assault charges

A Doha criminal court has acquitted a GCC national from charges of drunkenness and attacking his wife, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.

The wife of the man had complained to the police, claiming that her husband gets drunk late at night and physically attacks her. When questioned at the police station about the accusation, he admitted that he often drinks with his friends but denied any wrongdoing or attacking his wife.

Accordingly, the court acquitted the man due to the lack of firm material evidences against him, such as a laboratory report indicating that he got drunk.
